week 5: project

I will be exploring the eastern view of the “monster” against the western. How monsters became romanticized in Japan and how it effects still continues today and have even effected western cultures feelings the “monster”. We will look at the historical effect of Japan’s most famous monster pornography and storytelling and we will see how it has been exploited, modernized, and used for breaking the molds, and the effects it has had on people. We will also look how the monster has been used in sexual oppression, liberation, and how it affected political imbalances and views between gender in Japanese culture as well as feminists Politics today. 

A couple examples I have in mind are “pharasite” “Ancient Mangus Bride” “Inyuasha” “monster mesume” “totsukuni no shouju” “dragon maids” “Pokemon/digimon” “the time I was re incarnated as a slime” and some more adult type content that relates to topics as well has historical effects.
